Planning your senior photos should feel exciting, not stressful. If you are wondering what the process actually looks like from start to finish, you are in the right place.
As a senior photographer in Plymouth, Minnesota, I keep sessions relaxed, simple, and fun. Here is exactly what you can expect from the moment you reach out to the day you receive your photos.
Reaching Out + Choosing Your Session
The first step is reaching out and taking a look at the different session options.
Most seniors choose the 50-minute session because it gives you enough time to relax, ease into the session, and fit in an outfit change or two. It is a great balance of variety and a laid-back pace.
I also offer collections that include multiple locations if you want even more variety. That said, many of my favorite locations around Plymouth, Wayzata, and Minnetonka have plenty of different backdrops in one spot, so you can still get a wide range of images without needing to travel.
Choosing a Location + Date
Once you are booked, we will choose a location and date that fits your schedule and your style.
I help guide you through location options based on the look you are going for. Whether you love a more natural setting, open fields, or something a little more urban, we will find a spot that feels like you.
We will also choose a date that works well with your schedule and the time of year you prefer.
What About Weather?
Minnesota weather can be unpredictable, so we always keep an eye on the forecast as your session approaches.
If your session day looks like it might bring rain, we will touch base and make a plan. If needed, we will simply reschedule for a better day. The goal is always to give you the best possible experience and photos, so there is no stress if the weather does not cooperate.

How to Prepare for Your Senior Session
A little preparation goes a long way in helping you feel confident and relaxed.
Here are a few simple things to bring:
A hairbrush or comb
Lip gloss or chapstick
A second outfit if your session includes time for a change
Comfortable shoes for walking between spots
Water, especially on warmer days
You are also welcome to bring a parent or a friend. Sometimes it helps to have someone there to hype you up or just make you feel more comfortable.
Most importantly, wear outfits that feel like you. If you feel good in what you are wearing, it will show in your photos.
During Your Session
This is the fun part.
You do not need to know how to pose or what to do. I guide you through everything in a way that feels natural and relaxed. We will move around, chat, and keep things easy so you are never stuck wondering what to do next.
Most seniors start out a little unsure, and within the first few minutes, that feeling fades. By the end of the session, you will feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera.
After Your Session
Once your session is complete, I take care of all the editing.
You will receive your images in a digital gallery where you can view everything and choose your favorites based on your collection. From there, you can download your selections and start sharing or printing them however you would like.
