We tried to take a few serious photos at Amber's senior portrait session, but this girl is just too sweet and happy to convince anyone otherwise. I loved spending the evening with Amber and part of her family. It brought me so much joy to witness her and her sister walking hand in hand between locations and to listen to their Mom tell me about how incredible it's been to raise three girls. Thanks for a great session, Amber and Co.!

Thanks so much to those who participated in my Mother's Day Giveaway. You are all wonderful people. I really do feel like every single Mom deserves a session with their kiddos and I truly wish I could make that happen.

I kept track of all of the entries, wrote them down on slips of paper, and put them in a bowl for my daughter to draw from. She pulled out one name and handed it to me - AJ Lund. Feel free to check out the video of my little helper here:

Enjoy these photos of AJ with her sweet family <3

I love the couples I meet so much. When I finish shooting a wedding, I usually have mixed feelings of happiness, excitement, with a dash of sadness. I end up getting a little attached to the people I meet. Jess and Christiaan are no different which is why I am THRILLED that I get to photograph them again in September.

These two celebrated their wedding ceremony with their parents, siblings, and their siblings' families. It was a quick ceremony, but it was filled with as much love as an other ceremony that I've been to.

Jess' dress is from Amazon, because she's one of those people that can order anything, throw it on, and look perfect. Her adorable Mom created the floral arrangements and ring pillow, because she's one of those people that can do anything. Are you sensing a theme with this family? Anyway, enjoy this small and sweet ceremony filled with sunshine and awesome people.

Don't feel sad that your'e done looking when you get to the end--you'll see them again soon!

Last summer I headed to Chaska to photograph Mr. Archer Dolenc for his 6 month birthday. I was in the middle of shooting and Shelly, Archer's mom was holding something out for me to look at. It took way too long for it to register, but once it did, I realized that Shelly was showing me a positive pregnancy test. I did my best not to cry so many happy tears, but for Shelly, like so many women, trying to have a baby caused a lot of heartache the first time around. When I found out that this sweet family had another baby on the way, it brought nothing but joy to my heart. A little while later, I received an email from Shelly asking if I had ever thought of photographing a birth. The answer was YES. I had thought about it and I REALLY wanted to photograph Dolenc Baby #2 entering the world. After all, I was one of the first people to find out that another baby was on the way ;)

A few months came and went as Shelly and I emailed back and forth, talked via text, and did Archer's one year photo...
